Ross School Student Visit Quail Hill Farm for Field Study Course
Every year the Ross School in East Hampton takes a break from traditional classroom teaching and goes out to learn through hands-on experience. This year Linda Hanrahan, Grade 10 Team Leader & Mathematics Teacher, brought students from 8th through 12th grade all over Long Island visiting different farms and learning the importance of service and sustainability.
While the students visited Quail Hill Farm, they helped prepare for the 2019 planting season and learned the importance of seed saving. Some of the student’s favorite things they learned included….
“My favorite part was planting the seeds for the growing season.” – Leo, 8th Grade
“I enjoyed learning about the share program and how if you come to work on the farm you get a share.” – Ben Campbell, 10th Grade
Thank you to the team at Ross for lending a helping hand!
