Bridge Gardens is a Setting for Artists, Learners and Summer Campers

The number of visitors to Bridge Gardens seems to increase each year, and we couldn’t be more pleased. Particularly in the summer, we have regular visits from a variety of summer camp organizations. These include the Children’s Museum of the Hamptons, Shine Studios, the Bridgehampton Child Care and Recreational Center.

Artists also visit regularly, including members of The Wednesday Group as well as the students of artist/educator Barbara Thomas who learn how to capture the beauty of the garden in watercolor and watercolor guache.

This month, we hosted a large group of college-aged interns touring Long Island horticulture businesses to learn about the breadth of job opportunities in the field of landscape architecture, horticulture, and plant sciences. We thank Carol Isles, Administrative Director of the Long Island Nursery and Landscape Association, for giving us the opportunity to meet this engaged group of students to showcase the horticulture practices and native and non-native plants growing at Bridge Gardens.

All groups use the landscape as their muse for painting and drawing, children’s story time, nature-based learning, horticulture education, and garden-to-table workshops.
