Summer Shares begin in early June through October, with picking days on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

  • Over two hundred “summer share” families come to the Farm to harvest from the fields that include over 500 varieties of vegetables, fruits and flowers planted each year.
  • Single and Family Share Options are offered.

Winter Shares begin in mid November through February.

  • Those who join for a “winter share” receive root vegetables, alliums, and our greenhouse greens, from the Friday before Thanksgiving through February.
  • "Winter Shares" are now one size and one price.

Quail Hill Farm eggs, honey, cookbooks and apparel are sold at the Shop.

CSA share signups start early February each year.

Share Options

Share Sizes and Your Household:

As you select your share size, please note:

SUMMER:

  • “Single” shares are for 1-person households only.
  • “Family” shares are for those with two people or more living under one roof (yes, this rule applies even if your partner doesn’t like vegetables!). We ask all CSA members to abide by this guideline, the purpose of which is to ensure a full and accurate planning of harvests throughout the season.
  • “Box Shares” are being streamlined to one size and one price. The quantity is roughly comparable to a day’s harvest for a family, picked up once a week at the Trust's Bridge Gardens (on Thursdays) or at the farm shop (on Saturdays). Flowers can be added to your Box Share for an additional fee.

WINTER:

  • “Winter Shares” are being streamlined to one size and one price. Pick-up days are every other Friday and Saturday.

Sliding Scale

For 2022, we're excited to continue our sliding scale CSA fee structure for a second year. Sliding scale share pricing is one way we can make our CSA accessible to our neighbors with fewer resources, which in turn, allows us to share our values of land stewardship with a wider community.

  • Standard level share prices cover the full cost of what it takes to make this farm tick. If you are wondering how to pay the “real” price of the share, this is your baseline.
  • Contributor level shares help us cover the costs of providing shares to those with limited financial resources in our community. If you have the means and are passionate about increasing access to the Quail Hill Farm CSA, this is your level! *please note: this includes a tax-deductible donation: simply subtract the “Standard” from the “Contributor” level.
  • Sprout level shares are for those of lower middle income with the means to pay about 75% of the cost of the farm share.
  • Seed level shares are for those with very limited financial resources, and covers about 55% of the cost of a Standard Share. There are only a handful of these shares available to those most in need in our community. *please note: if you cannot afford this share price, please email lguenther@peconiclandtrust.org to discuss.
2022 Sliding Scale

If you’re unsure of which share is for you, check out this worksheet that you can fill out at home for guidance. Please note: This is NOT required to be submitted when selecting your share level.

A central part of our mission at Quail Hill is to educate the public concerning such issues as soil health, our seed supply, food security, and sustainable, organic farming practices. Connecting people with land in this way builds a community that will appreciate and support the stability, integrity, and beauty of the bioregion.
