Description
The North Fork Stewardship Center is the focal point for Peconic Land Trust's land conservation activities on the North Fork. Our professional Land Stewards work with landowners and municipalities to develop and implement stewardship management plans that meet landowner's needs and maintain the natural features and agricultural value.
Peconic Land Trust is looking for a Part Time Seasonal Groundskeeper for our North Fork Stewardship Center in Cutchogue, NY. This position will be from May 1 to October 31 and will be about 21 hours a week. Full time Land Steward opportunity for the right candidate.
The Groundskeeper will be responsible for:
- General maintenance of Trust buildings and properties including power washing
- Weekly mowing, weed-wacking, and hedge trimming
- Fence line clearing and repairs
- Ensure vehicles are cleaned and maintained
Requirements
Qualified Candidates will have:
- Ability to safely operate a Weed Wacker, push mower, and ride on mower
- Basic knowledge of maintenance and repairs for 2 cycle tools and hand tools
- Strong attention to detail with a positive attitude
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English
