Brown-eyed Susan is easily grown from seed. Thriving in moist, fertile, well-drained soils and full sun, it is also somewhat tolerant to drought and partial shade. Though often short-lived, it self-sows readily.

There is a variety called ‘Prairie Glow,’ also easily grown from seed, with red-orange flowers with yellow tips. You will find it in bloom now in the Herb Garden’s Textile and Dye Bed.
