My Time at the Farm

As my time as an apprentice at Quail Hill Farm comes to an end it is very satisfying to leave the farm sown with cover crop and a bountiful harvest that will supply families throughout the winter.

I have spent the last month smoking and drying peppers such as poblanos and chipotle that will compliment the 200+ pounds of many varieties of dry beans.

The greenhouses are full of fresh tender greens like lettuce, arugula, tatsoi, kale and much more that will be able to provide everyone with their greens fix through the winter.

It would be a sin not to mention the plethora of winter squashes we have meticulously sorted. Look out for my favorite, rugosa butternut squash, and yes it is supposed to look like that.

This growing season has been extra special for me and I appreciate all the support and good energy you all have contributed.
